Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Paro – Welcome to the Kingdom

Arrive at Paro International Airport, where your guide and driver will warmly welcome you. After hotel check-in, enjoy a relaxed afternoon exploring Paro town. Visit the impressive Rinpung Dzong, a fine example of Bhutanese architecture overlooking the valley. In the evening, enjoy a traditional welcome dinner.

Begin your day with a visit to Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest and most sacred temples. Continue exploring the Paro Valley, including cultural landmarks and scenic viewpoints. In the afternoon, enjoy a farmhouse visit for a glimpse into traditional Bhutanese life

Drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s charming capital. Visit the National Memorial Chorten, where locals gather for daily prayers, followed by the Traditional Medicine Museum showcasing Bhutan’s healing traditions. Spend the rest of the day exploring the city at a relaxed pace.

Visit the towering Buddha Dordenma statue for panoramic valley views. Continue to Pangri Zampa Monastery, home to Bhutan’s astrology school, and explore the Folk Heritage Museum for insights into rural life. Enjoy the blend of tradition and modernity in Bhutan’s capital.

Drive to Punakha via the scenic Dochula Pass (3,150m), offering breathtaking Himalayan views and 108 chortens. Descend into the lush Punakha Valley and visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong at the confluence of two rivers. Optionally, take a short walk to Chimi Lhakhang, the fertility temple.

Journey east through beautiful landscapes to the tranquil Phobjikha Valley, a glacial wetland and winter home of the black-necked cranes. Visit Gangtey Monastery overlooking the valley and the Black-Necked Crane Information Centre. Enjoy a peaceful nature walk in the valley.

Immerse yourself in the vibrant Black-Necked Crane Festival at Gangtey Monastery. Witness traditional mask dances, cultural performances, and celebrations dedicated to the sacred cranes. Spend the afternoon exploring the valley or observing the cranes in their natural habitat.

Drive back to Paro through scenic mountain roads and traditional villages. Enjoy the changing landscapes and peaceful countryside views. Arrive in Paro by late afternoon and relax for the evening.

Embark on a memorable hike to the iconic Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), perched dramatically on a cliffside. The 4–5 hour round-trip trek offers breathtaking views and a deeply spiritual experience. In the evening, unwind with a traditional Bhutanese hot stone bath.
