Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Paro – Golden Valley Welcome

Arrive at Paro International Airport and receive a warm welcome from your guide and driver. Settle into your hotel, enjoy a traditional Bhutanese lunch, and visit the ancient Kyichu Lhakhang — one of Bhutan’s oldest temples, blessed by Guru Rinpoche. Walk among spinning prayer wheels and fragrant incense for a gentle start to your cultural journey.

Climb to the hilltop Ta Dzong (National Museum) for stunning views and a rich display of thangkas, artifacts, and royal relics. Later, explore the unique chorten-shaped Dumtseg Lhakhang, built by Thangtong Gyalpo, filled with vibrant murals symbolizing the realms of existence.

Overnight: Paro

Drive over scenic Dochula Pass with its 108 chortens and Himalayan vistas. Continue to the warm Punakha Valley and visit the charming Chimi Lhakhang (Fertility Temple) of the Divine Madman Drukpa Kunley, where playful blessings flow amid rice fields. Relax in the gentle spiritual energy of the former capital.

Hike to the elegant Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten for ridge-top views and intricate deity paintings. After lunch, wander the majestic Punakha Dzong at the river confluence, home to sacred Guru Rinpoche relics and timeless monastic life.
